Requirements:   Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have two references (at least one academic and one other). Interns should be interested in marine mammal and sea turtle biology, medicine and/or research, should be reliable, independent and work well in potentially stressful situations. All candidates must be: in good physical condition and able to tolerate exposure to extreme weather conditions, to swim, hike five miles, drive full-size pick-up truck and lift over 50 pounds. Applicants with special skills (i.e. database programming/management, ARCGIS, graphic design or photography) are preferred. Interns for the Research & Conservation Division are required to work 24-32 hours/week for at least 10 weeks.

Description:   Assist with the live and dead stranding response of marine mammals and sea turtles, including: necropsies, data and sample collection, animal disposal, cleaning, office organization, data entry and management, live animal husbandry, working with volunteer team members and staff, boat based research and other activities.

The Aquarium also offers internships in: Horticulture, Diver Program Assistant, Animal Care, Education and Support.
