Requirements:   Any major is considered. The incumbent must have a passion for space exploration and willing to apply their unique perspective to making space exploration more relevant to the average person.

40 hours per week for 6 months

Must be familiar with Web 2.0 communities and collaborative technologies. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of LSL (Linden Scripting Language), the computer language to create content in Second Life, and be willing to answer questions to the Second Life community. The incumbent must be a self-starter and have the ability to pull in and organize volunteers for larger-scale projects.

Description:   The intern will be a core member of the NASA Colab team at NASA Ames Research Center. The intern will be active in generating content for NASA CoLab in Second Life as well as be an active member in the volunteer community.

There are two main projects that the NASA CoLab team would like assistance with. First, is scripting a life size model of the International Space Station, and second will be to bring in real-time telemetry and state vector data into second life to have real-time operability of an autonomous rover.

The intern will be a part of a small team that is creating a mechanism to allow the public to contribute in the space program. This project will generate a high amount of publicity and will have an opportunity for significant growth within the agency.
